For more than 80 years Betty Barclay have successfully designed womens clothing. Following the completion of his apprenticeship in 1938, Founder Max Berk took over the Mannheim laundry factory and began producing womens clothing (before it was destroyed during WW2). In 1945 he launched his eponymous brand Berk and in 1955, after discovering the USA teenage brand Betty Barclay, he acquired the distribution rights for European market, and founded Betty Barclay Kleiderfabrik GmbH in Heidelberg. The first Betty Barclay collection was created that spring. Today their collections retain the same unmistakeable look, representing the attitude to life of the modern woman who enjoys both fashion and femininity.
