The story of OLVERUM is as rich as rare as the oil itself.

From a twelfth century physic garden to the latest modern laboratories, it’s a tale involving a secret recipe guarded for decades, and several lifetimes of passion and specialist knowledge. In 1929 in the Mosel Valley, Germany, two enthusiasts of essential oils, winemaker Franz Otto Klein and his wife Edith, a pharmacologist, embarked on a labour of love, to create the world’s finest therapeutic oil.

Using botanical extracts from their personal collection – both distilled from the herbs in their ancient monastic garden and gathered on their international travels – the Kleins spent two years tirelessly experimenting with blend after blend until finally achieving a formulation with the preternatural properties they sought, and an intoxicating fragrance that would enchant generations to come.

Now, over eight decades later, OLVERUM is considered a European cult beauty classic counting Hollywood stars and British Royalty among its fans.

Recently, it has begun a new chapter as the London-based family entrusted with OLVERUM’s future have added multiple award-winning products to the range. Each has been created with rigorous adherence to the Klein’s ethos of generosity, and an unwavering dedication to quality and excellence.
